okay: first things first: I love cupcakes with icing, but don't like muffins... they are always kinda soggy...
but I LOOVE cupcakes. have I mentioned that? ooh. I eat them from the bottom upwards, so in the end I just have the top with the icing on left. then I gobble that too =D
now that that is done, [I'm mft:]
hormones and self therapy: I currently am in a state of dire need of hormones, or at least I think so, as my facial hair is actually starting to grow now in real. I have a therapist appointment on monday, and I'm hoping to be redirected from there, hopefully being able to get at least anti-androgens, which is definately suggested as the first step. in my experience, wikipedia is infruriatingly precise about the chemistry, but not about doses or names or whether one needs a doctors slip, or whatever you call them, for it.
to directly answer your question: I was SO close to buying pills for myself a while ago, but I decided against it, as I found out that if the body finds too much estrogen in the body it can cause a huge amount of testosterone, and vice versa. so basically, you REALLY want to follow a doctors advice, even if you can't really afford to go in regularly for treatment: go and talk to him/her about it, and let them at least explain it to you. most doctors understand money problems as well (they are human too^^), so basically they should help you, and with some you can talk about the price. they just want profit, and a little profit is better than none, and sending the patient out into the world to do his thing, however dangerous.
so basically, the moral of the story is: don't take pills. Even if you do take them, apparently not all pills have estrogen in them, and so it is quite possible the rest of the stuff in there mucks you up completely before you get anywhere near the effects you want.
and for the record: eat cupcakes. they're awesome.
